5th November - 7 Up!
Brache Sparta somehow got this match on last night and Waders took full advantage to gain 3 valuable league points. The scoring was kicked off by Ryan Jenner and quickly bolstered by a brace from Adam Lamacraft.
The second period saw Adam gain another 3 goals to make his personal tally 5 on the night and his brother Sean also got in on the act with a strike to make the final score 7-0 to Town.
1st November - League Round-Up
A miserable day weatherwise, but only one fixture abandoned, that at Biggleswade Utd. Elsewhere the action saw a total of 13 goals with 6 of those at Royston as the home side saw off Amtphill 5-1 to consolidate their position at the top of the table.
10th placed Langford got a great point away at 2nd placed Hatfield Town whilst Hadley in 3rd notched up their 6th win of the season 3-1 at home to Crawley Green who dropped one place in favour of The 61 FC who moved into 8th couresy of a draw at Wodson Park.
Sawbridgeworth Town lost at Biggleswade Town, but only by a single Tony Neilson second half goal with the visitors showing a resurgence from their huge midweek defeat at Royston. Sawbridgeworth though have now conceded 40 goals in 9 starts. Kent Athletic were without a fixture and stay rooted firmly to the bottom of the table, albeit with 3 games in hand on Sawbridgeworth one place above them.
29th October - Record Win?
An amazing Reserves Division 2 East league match last night saw Royston Town entertain Sawbridgeworth Town in more ways than one. The home side romped to a 16-0 win in what is believed to be the biggest win in this section ever. Royston go top of the table (see fixtures/results page for the latest table) with Waders dropping to 6th, but with 2 games in hand on the leaders. This Saturday (1st November) Biggleswade Town Reserves host Sawbridgeworth at The Carlsberg Stadium (3pm - entry free).
18th September. Waders Dance To The Comeback Tune -- BTFC 3-2 Hadley
Within a minute of the start of the second period, the young Waders were 2-0 down and staring defeat in the face in this their 2nd league outing of the season. Hadley started this campaign as one of the championship favourites and duly put sleeping Town to the sword. But by the final whistle that position had been retrieved more positively than you could recommend a Halifax savings account and a winning run at The Carlsberg Stadium was well underway for this talented Biggleswade team.
Jamie Steele, Lawrence Cooper, and Joe Dance (92nd minute) polished the performance into 3 league points and a very happy manager. Tony Lamacraft commented, "A few things were pointed out to the lads at half time and they knew that I was as sick as a parrott with how the first half had panned out. But they acquitted themselves with alacrity and passion after the break. I was delighted for them. Jamie Steele promulgated our revival and we never looked back from then. I was over the moon at the end, I really was."
6th September - Heaven for the 11
Biggleswade Town 11 - 0 Kent Athletic
Waders made the best possible start to their league campaign here today at The Carlsberg Stadium. A crowd of 41 braved the inclement weather to be warmed by Towns exciting and flowing football.
The opening exchanges saw Waders running rampant without any joy wjhen in front of goal, but all that was to change so quickly. the last 20 minutes of the half saw 3 goals to Waders, one by Simpson straight from a corner kick.
A hat-trick from Adam Lamacraft was the highlight from a magnificent team perfomance that also saw captain Cameron Clark, Jamie Steele and Joe Dance score a brace apiece backed up by goals from Bobby Dance and Charlie Simpson. The Final score of 11-0 reflected the dominance that the young Waders displayed and a top of table the place at 5pm.
A word of sympathy though for the Kent Athletic goalkeeper who actually kept the scoreline lower than it could of been and showed some class and resiliance in the visitors goal.
